Presidential Auction 2004

Al Giordano has a slightly different view of the Kerry "scandal"...

Infidelity is as American as Apple Pie. In fact, there's more infidelity in the average household's closet than there is apple pie in the pantry. Sure, some people will flinch. Others will think, "Wow, the guy has everything." Most people, especially the prudes, will be secretly titillated and aroused. That's exactly what happened with Clinton in the campaign phase (I repeat: there is no White House or official angle on this Drudge smear, so it has no legal legs, only media legs: there's a huge difference in the enemy's lack of ability to make hay with this one.)

The sanctimonious prigs and hypocritical partisans of other candidates will have their fun with this, there might even be a Kerry stumble in Wisconsin, Edwards might win a primary or two, but by the time this goes to New York and California on March 2nd, where adultery is practically a sacrament, you'll see Kerry emerge more Tefloned than ever, and ready to take on the Court Appointed President. And the script is the same whether the "story" is true, or false, or somewhere in between.

...But if anyone really thinks that this is a campaign killing issue, then you don't understand the dynamics of a modern media campaign.
