President Bush said on Friday he had installed Alabama Attorney General William Pryor on an Atlanta appeals court, the second time this year he has bypassed Congress on a judicial selection.
Pryor, an outspoken foe of abortion rights, was blocked by Democrats when Bush first nominated him 10 months ago. But the president used a "recess appointment" -- naming him while Congress was on a five-day break -- to circumvent Senate approval. "I am proud to name this leading American lawyer to the appellate bench," Bush said in a statement. |
" I am proud to sneak around and circumvent every law and moral edict that ever was placed into the grand ideal that was America. I am proud to be the worst president this country has ever seen. And I am proud to sucker all you non-privileged hordes for as long as you let me get away with it." He did not add.
Apparently, all recess appointments are temporary and have to be renominated, which seems like a bunch of silliness. How temporary, I do not know, and if that information finds its way to my aching head, I will certainly pass it on. At this moment, I have too much to get done to take the time to look for it.
Sorry. Life is just a little short of heaven some days.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
