I don't know how I got on the Demwit DNC list, but here's an encouraging commentary from them in an email this morning regarding the Chandler win in Kentucky.
This past Tuesday, voters in Kentucky sent a strong message to President Bush and the Republicans by electing Democrat Ben Chandler to Congress. Chandler now represents the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky, a seat previously held by Republicans in a state Bush won in 2000.
Chandler's opponent ran TV ads comparing herself to Bush and saying that she and the president were "cut from the same cloth."
The result? She dropped in the polls and had to pull the ads.
Chandler's decisive 12-point victory over his Bush-clone opponent did more than just take a House seat away from Republicans and put it in Democratic hands. This win sent notice that every House seat, every Senate race, every Governor's race, and every electoral vote is in play this November.
