Halliburton just keeps on coming

The Wall Street Journal (sorry, that's subscription, which I don't have) is reporting that Halliburton's subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root has overcharged the government (that's us) to the tune of $16 million on meals that weren't actually ever served to troops in Operation Inigo Montoya. This is on top of their other overcharges. We're just talking meals here this time.

Halliburton says no, it's not like that at all.

"This is not about overcharging. This is about finding a good way to estimate the number of meals so soldiers can get fed," Halliburton spokeswoman Wendy Hall told AFP.

...Halliburton said it is difficult to determine how many people will be at the dinner table in the middle of a war zone.

Wendy lost her conscience at what age?

The actual numbers show that KBR billed for 42,042 meals a day on average but served only 14,053 meals a day.

KBR underestimates about like BushCo on the Medicare bill.

If we're not seeing corruption in these acts, we are seeing some serious cases of the Peter Principal. And somebody ought to be in the unemployment line besides the folks from KB Toys.
