And Surprise - People Are Pissed

Seniors outraged at proposed cuts to Medicare held "knit-ins" at bank branches throughout New York City and Long Island on Wednesday afternoon. They knitted blankets that said "Save Medicare," which they plan to hand-deliver to members of Congress during the August recess.

Protesters upset with budget cuts in the debt ceiling compromise bill targeted Wall Street in New York on Tuesday.

“The real crisis is mass layoffs,” the group Bloombergville Now, which organized the demonstration, said. “Hunger. Homelessness. Millions of homes in some stage of foreclosure. The bank-sponsored demolition of foreclosed homes. Looting of pensions. Dismantling of public schools. Furloughs. Union-busting.”
