President Barack Obama on Thursday will call on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down and slap new sanctions on his government in a toughening of the U.S. stance toward the Syrian leader, a U.S. official said.
I can’t believe we haven’t already told him he needs to leave.
In a written statement on Thursday, President Barack Obama said: "The future of Syria must be determined by its people, but President Bashar al-Assad is standing in their way ... For the sake of the Syrian people, the time has come for President Assad to step aside."
So, really, the future of Syria must be decided by Barack Obama. Let’s hope he does a better job for them.
And just what is taking Qadafi so long to get out? We've told him already. Several times.
UPDATE 8/19: His options have been curtailed.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
