President #Compromise: On the Campaign Trail

I wonder if he will notice regular people during his Million-Dollar-Bus tour through the heartland. I mean really notice. Sadly, I think I know the answer to that.

Jobs should have been Priority Number One when he first took office. But instead, the Obamacans put Wall Street banksters first, dumping trillions of dollars from our public funds into saving the butts of greedheads who crashed our economy. They bailed out Wall Streeters without even requiring that the bankers invest in job-creating, grassroots enterprises.

[...]

Then, last December, with an exploding crisis of joblessness knocking our economy to its knees, who did the White House help? The superrich! Their ridiculous Bush tax breaks were extended for another two years, without any requirements to use this windfall to create a single job.

[...]

"I will urge [Congress] to immediately take some steps – bipartisan, commonsense steps – that will make a difference," [President Obama] boldly declared. But as we've seen, "bipartisan" steps only go backwards. And, as for "immediately," the Urger-in-Chief, added that lawmakers should do it, not right now, but when they get back from their month-long August vacation.

Obama in Iowa: “Well, you know what, you guys didn’t send us [to Washington] to be thinking about our jobs. You sent us there to be thinking about your jobs and your future.” AND THAT’S WHY YOU’RE TOOLING AROUND IOWA IN A GIANT CAMPAIGN BUS.

[...]

“Everybody has got to make sacrifices; there are programs that aren’t working well. And sometimes there are those in my party who will defend everything, even if it’s not working.”

“If everybody is willing to make some modest sacrifices ... we could solve [this problem].”

[...]

“And so as tough as things are, all of us are incredibly blessed to have been born in the United States of America.” HE’S ASSUMING THERE ARE NO IMMIGRANTS IN IOWA. PROBABLY RIGHT.

[...]

He says the increase in partisanship is partly because everyone used to watch Walter Cronkite but now “everybody is on their own little blog or their own separate news forum.” Okay, now he’s gone too fucking far. TOO FUCKING FAR!!!

[...]

“I make no apologies for being reasonable.” HOW ABOUT FOR BEING A WIMP?

There's still a little bit too much of his trademark "on the other hand," "I'm the only reasonable guy" rhetoric, as he insists "sometimes Democrats aren't good at ... acknowledging that not every program in government is working perfectly and we've got to make adjustments to become more efficient and more productive, just like the private sector does." And I think the "shared sacrifice" rhetoric is getting old, given that, as Warren Buffett reminded us, the wealthy aren't being asked to sacrifice at all.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
