Who are these White House officials?

I keep reading articles that claim a "White House official" said this or said that. They never have names. No accountability. How darned convenient.

So, okay, whatever. Another nameless "White House official" is quoted:

President George Bush tripped up when he said last week that the United States was ready to "go forward with" a new package of military training programs with Indonesia, a White House official has said.

You remember that statement of Georgie's - the one that "stunned" Congress.

Somebody better put that boy on a shorter leash.
