Is it just me?

Or is this kind of a surprise from Pat Buchanan? He is calling for immediate and complete troop withdrawal from Iraq.

There'll be some blowback, Pat, to be sure. But, until I have other information to change my mind, I'd have to vote for that option myself.

Here's Pat's list of choices the Boy Blunder has:

1) Immediate troop withdrawal.

2) Commit to a war in Iraq and fight the guerillas until we win.

3) Escalate to include Syria, et al.

He also lays out the risks of each option.

1) Civil war and total chaos, leaving Iraq a "haven for terrorists".

2) Ruination of Dumbya's chances for re-election and ultimate defeat in a jihad we cannot win.

3) More enemies than we have now, and more countries to patrol for which we do not have the resources.

But, Pat says, GW seems to have chosen a fourth alternative: none of the above.

It does kind of look that way, doesn't it? Wonder what he's waiting for. Maybe God's line is busy?

Perhaps this explains Pat's reasoning: We liberated Iraq from Saddam, but the future of Iraq is for them to decide, not us.

Pat's pretending we went in there to liberate the Iraqis. It almost appears that Pat thinks we should just dump and run. He doesn't mention anything about turning anything over to the U.N. or any alternative plan to mitigate the problems caused by pulling out. But maybe he simply left that part out to save column space.

Meanwhile, Coward McWimp, the pretend warrior, was hiding out at Camp David when the organized protest arrived today. No doubt he was not sufficiently recovered from his whirlwind Asian tour and the protestors at every stop throughout. Or maybe it was just time to have another vacation. Lord knows it's been a few weeks.

The Secret Service placed obstacles to keep the protesters from marching directly in front of the White House along Pennsylvania Avenue. Bush was spending the weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland.

...At one point during the afternoon, a shouting match erupted between an anti-war crowd and counterdemonstrators holding “Trust Jesus” signs.

....hey, do what you want....you will anyway....
