Nor have I haven't forgotten about that selective service shit.
Military experts outside Congress say there is a political advantage to be gained by Democrats who want to make the president squirm at a time of growing frustration among military families and other Americans over the occupation.
I find this incredibly disgusting. A stream of invective goes swirling through my mind, and I resort to fantasies of blinking the whole damned lot of them out of existence. How reprehensible that they could even think of such a thing as risking other people's lives so they can "make the president squirm". You can be sure their children won't be at risk.
And here's a bill in the House that would require all "young people" to serve a mandatory stint in military or homeland defense service. I have not yet read the entire thing, but this bit caught my eye:
SEC. 3. TWO-YEAR PERIOD OF NATIONAL SERVICE.
...(b) GROUNDS FOR EXTENSION- At the discretion of the President, the period of military service for a member of the uniformed services under this Act may be extended--
...(2) for the purpose of requiring the member to compensate for any time lost to training for any cause.
At the discretion of this pResident? I suppose he'll compensate for his "lost time" with the Texas Air National Guard first?
Impeach. And dump those disconnects from reality that sit in Congress as well.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
