Travelers from western European nations and Japan will be added in September to the list of foreign visitors fingerprinted and photographed upon arrival in the U.S., the State Department said.
Bloomberg article
If you've got any desire to travel to other countries, you might want to think about doing it now. We appear to be heading toward a world of xenophobic border-tightening. If we get Bush again, I think there's actually a possibility that, not only will no one be coming in, we could find ourselves effectively prohibited from going out.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
Update April 3: That list of countries who will be fingerprinted turns out to be 27-countries long, and includes England and Australia, as well. Apparently these countries don't want to submit to U.S. demands for issuing "biometric" passports that are supposed to be counterfeit proof. (Like anything is counterfeit proof for any length of time. And like all terrorists come here with passports.)
