The Pointless Commission

Please feel free to submit names for the commission which will be charged with not finding out how and why Adolph Bush used hyped intelligence to intimidate Congressional wimps into invading Iraq.

Specifically, the president will appoint the entire commission himself, breaking the previous tradition of allowing lawmakers from both parties to appoint commission members. Although lawmakers have raised objections to the commission's lack of independence, the White House is moving forward with its plans.  Misleader article

Of course. The unilateral, explain nothing, I don't negotiate even with myself idiot in the Oval Office just marches on, heedless of any reality or concerns about anything other than whatever it is God and he have decided to do. Understandable at this point, however, because his head is so far up his ass that he can no longer trust even the Republicans in Congress to back him up.

Additionally, despite the fact that the commission's work will be critical to national security, the president will only authorize a commission that produces a report after the election -- so as to minimize any political fallout for himself.

Of course! Hell, even he is not so stupid he can't figure that one out. Oh. Maybe he is. Maybe Karl figured that one out for him.

The 9/11 commission, on the other hand, is to hurry up and get their report done by spring, even though they need more time.

As Republican Senator Chuck Hagel said, a failure to convince the public that Bush did not "exaggerate" the case for war "would put the president in a very bad position. He said people would start asking, "Do we trust his word? Do we trust him to lead this country?"

Can you believe this shit?

I am simply aghast that anyone is left who still doesn't have an answer to that question.
