Good Question

LaBelle sends this from the Kansas City Star online:

NBC's Tim Russert on Vice President Dick Cheney's remark that the nation faces the threat of another terrorist attack if the “wrong choice” is made on Election Day: “What happens if there is a terrorist attack between now and the election? Whose fault is that?”

My guess is that it's a moot question. Switch out the G-D; is there a metaphysical message? Maybe, if I could figure out what the replacing M-T stands for. But, I digress.

The question would be moot, I suggest, if Cheney is certain that he is in control of when an attack occurs. Like W's calm certainty of carrying Florida on election night in 2000.

Of course a less sinister answer would be that Cheney is just whipping up anti-Kerry fear in the less-able-to-think-rationally crowd. Those who will start squealing that a vote for Kerry means we'll be attacked, when the fact is that the one attack we've had to date that we might possibly use to make such a simplistic judgement was on W's watch.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.

And better yet...
