Presidential Auction 2004

Kerry thinks he might just foil one campaign advantage a sitting president has. The incumbent's party has their nominating convention after the challenging party. Both Kerry and Bush have opted for public funding of their campaigns only after their parties' nominations have been accepted, and at that time, their spending is limited to some ungodly amount of taxpayer money - but the amount is equal for them both. The timing of the conventions (and the acceptance of the nominations) gives Bush a month more of unlimited spending than Kerry would get if he accepts the Democrat party nomination in July. So, he's thinking about postponing the "official" acceptance!   source

Isn't politics fun?

And you know what would be even more fun? If the Republican party surprised everybody in August by nominating somebody other than El Dufus. Wouldn't that be fun, guys?

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
