Plame investigation update

The name of a second journalist to be subpoenaed by the grand jury in the Plame affair showed up today in a Xinhuanet article: Time Magazine's Matthew Cooper.

Time has, like NBC, said it will fight the subpoena. The reason given in this article from NBC, that it could have a "chilling effect" on NBC's ability to report the news, makes more sense than the earlier MSNBC article about Tim Russert being subpoenaed (that he hadn't been one of the journalists contacted by the WH leaker, whoever that was - we still don't know). Still, it's kind of ironic since NBC, along with every other major media source in this country has cooled its own heels in reporting anything that might shine a negative light on this misadministration.

When NBC starts reporting the news, then it can worry about chilling effects on its ability.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
