Con artists scamming the elderly

Criminal, isn't it?

Progress Report (Drug Card Boondoggle) details the Medicare scam, pointing out that "a month's supply of the ten most popular brand-name drugs cost more using three Medicare drug cards – the Pharmacy Care Alliance Card, the RxSavings Card and the Walgreen's Card – than purchasing the drugs at Drugstore.com"; "a month's supply of the ten most popular brand-name drugs will cost $1,046 using the Pharmacy Care Alliance Card but just $596 in Canada"; a "month's supply of ten popular drugs costs $587 when purchased in bulk by the Department of Veterans Affairs but averages $1,026 with the new drug cards"; Medicare beneficiaries must choose one amongst an array of 33 cards and can't change companies until 2005, but the companies can change their prices every week; a friend of George W's who bailed him out of trouble with the SEC was awarded the privilege of helping to write the new drug card program; according to information from "sponsors of the drug cards, the government website that is supposed to allow seniors to compare prices 'is full of inaccurate, erroneous information'"; and at least 17 states have already reported incidences of fraud involving the new card system.

Another nice con job by BushCo.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
