And this is going to change things how?

Ricin Attacks May End Writing to Congress

...Despite the flood of e-mails, faxes and telephone calls that Congress receives daily, handwritten and typed letters are still the main way members of the House and Senate correspond with the people who elected them.

...Some lawmakers are now questioning whether it will ever be safe again to open and read unsolicited letters from their constituents.

Oh hell, they never opened those letters in the first place. Some mailroom grunt or staff person did.

Technicality aside, if they pay no attention to the letters anyway, what difference does it make? And don't tell me they pay any attention. Write to your Congressperson. What do you get in return? You get a form letter that says thank you for writing to me about (insert topic), and then you get the standard party line about the topic and perhaps a recount of some of the things your particular Congressperson has backed in the past, and how he or she will continue to do the best thing for his or her state and for America.

There are two parties. With two party lines. Pick one and get over it. Congress is a scam. Prove me wrong. Write to that Congressperson of yours.

...58 percent of U.S. households didn't have Internet access in 2000, according to the Census Bureau. And AARP says many of its older members still prefer to write their lawmakers by hand.

Well, isn't that handy. They won't have to hear from the poor and aged at all. All the easier to pretend they don't exist with a clear conscience. Why, I never hear from any of them. They must be satisfied.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
