The European Union, Japan and other World Trade Organisation members will on Monday take the first steps towards imposing sanctions on US exports because of Washington's failure to comply with a WTO ruling against a controversial trade law.
They will ask the WTO to authorise retaliation, possibly on several hundred million dollars of goods, in a dispute over the US Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act, also known as the Byrd amendment. article
