Till the end of time

Jerusalem:With mounting pressure and intensifying investigations, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's associates have told Channel Two TV that he will resign if indicted on charges of accepting bribes from businessman David Appel.

The police is said to have collected far more incriminating information than has been reported till date concerning how Sharon apparently used his government positions to help David Appel's business interests, mostly concerning land deals in the Lod area when Sharon was national infrastructure minister.

So far, the Prime Minister has only been asked questions based on a small amount of the material collected by the police, but the level of the Lod land related investigation is to be heightened with police seeing a direct connection between the hundreds of thousands of dollars that were supposedly paid to Sharon's Sycamore Farm and these deals, daily Ha'aretz reported.

...On Thursday night, speaking to a room full of cheering young Likud members at party headquarters, Sharon said, "I come to you tonight as prime minister and chairman of the Likud, who intends to remain so for many more years to come, at least until 2007." When reporters that were allowed into the room asked about his plans after being named in Appel's indictment on bribery charges, he replied, "I believe I answered that question".

Sharon resign? Sure.

What's going to happen in 2007? I mean, the New Agers say that's the adjusted true date of the Mayan Calendar's 2013 - the end of time. (Or maybe that's the adjusted cosmic calendar, or something. Whatever.) But what else?

Not like that's not enough, or anything.
