Don't let that lie in
The Jan. 7 Associated Press article "Saddam's trial puts pressure on CIA's interrogation team" included a picture of Saddam Hussein. The caption read, "Saddam's interrogation may be quite different from that of other Al-Qaida prisoners."
America has been told countless times -- indeed even President Bush has admitted -- that there is no evidence of a link between Saddam's government and the Al-Qaida network. Yet politicians, pundits, talk show hosts and other rabble rousers continue to lie so much that 70 percent of the American people think Saddam's government was in some way responsible for the downing of the trade towers.
Star Tribune editors, as members of the free press and charged with the responsibility of informing the public with straightforward, unemotional reporting, must not let such inaccurate references slip into their publication. For if we cannot get sober news from news agencies like yours, where are we to go?

Dear Reed,
Go to the internet. Check independent news sources and even blogs. Here's a good starter list.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
