Isn't that what it feels like? How many times have I asked you what the hell happened while I was asleep? That's okay, I don't expect you to remember the actual number. "Lots" will do.
I would explicate further, but Justin Raimondo does a remarkably good job in his February 2002 post: Bizarro World, and it would be silly of me to try to do better.
Go read it.
And then come back and read his article taking that goofball David Brooks to task over his ridiculous remarks about neocon criticism being anti-semitism.
Brooks and his fellow Scoop Jackson Republicans will be laughing out the other side of their mouths when the investigation into who started this war, and why, gets going, and that is precisely what the inquiry into who outed Valerie Plame promises to be. The pace is picking up on that front, and soon we'll see some real action: the bunker-buster that destroys neocon influence in Washington is about to go off.
I hope he's right, but I am so jaded, after the Warren Commission and the 9/11 Commission and all the other official pronouncements sweeping crap under the rug, that I am not holding my breath for a positive outcome in the Plame affair.
Raimondo's article has links galore, so take the ride. It's worth your while. And to paraphrase Chris Monks, your while has lost some of its value since 9/11. So let's see if we can't recoup.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
