Oh. My. God.

This Reuters report on the execution of a convicted murderer in Ohio is just pretty awful.

It describes the whole ordeal and the background on the case, and how the executed man's mother had to be taken out in a wheelchair after witnessing him screaming for help and mercy.

And, then, the concluding statement of the article....

For his final meal, Williams chose the prison's regular dinner of smoked sausage, rice, black-eyed peas, collard greens and vanilla pudding.

Damn! I mean, damn! Who wrote that? I don't mean who...I mean what.

Freaks. We are a nation of freaks. And we don't even know it.

Remember the reporter that asked the doctor of the little Iraqi boy who lost his entire family and both arms in a coalition blast if the little boy understood that America was there to help him?

Ring-a-ling-a-ling. Hello? Anybody?

I guess the press has to compete with the TV news for audience. And the TV news audience apparently wants happy smiling faces telling them who was brutalized by life and their fellow man today, and let's go now to our sports anchor....

Say! How about those Pistons!

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
