The disgrace that is our "Democracy"

Bob has cleared something up for me.

The Bush White House, irritated by pesky questions from congressional Democrats about how the administration is using taxpayer money, has developed an efficient solution: It will not entertain any more questions from opposition lawmakers.
...
The director of the White House Office of Administration, Timothy A. Campen, sent an e-mail titled "congressional questions" to majority and minority staff on the House and Senate Appropriations panels. Expressing "the need to add a bit of structure to the Q&A process," he wrote: "Given the increase in the number and types of requests we are beginning to receive from the House and Senate, and in deference to the various committee chairmen and our desire to better coordinate these requests, I am asking that all requests for information and materials be coordinated through the committee chairmen and be put in writing from the committee." -- Washington Post
Since by the profoundly undemocratic rules in Congress that all committee chairmen come from the majority party, this means that Republicans can screen any requests for information from the administration coming from Congressional Democrats and independents. Let's hope that Congress makes a huge stink about this, including some Republicans who still remember when they used to have principles.

These people are unstoppable it seems. And absolutely unscrupulous. I wonder if there are any "Republicans who still remember when they used to have principles".

I cannot say it often enough. The whole barrel up there in D.C. is rotten to the core. And they don't give a rat's ass about constituents. As I've said on this blog before, they do not represent you. They represent monied interests. And they know that your vote is bought by the party with the most money to spend campaigning. It's true. Check it out - who wins. It's overwhelmingly the one who spent the most campaigning. That's why Asshat Bush can smirk "Watch me" when asked how in the world he's going to spend the record amount of money he's collecting.

And like I said once before: stop voting for politicians. Vote for an honest neighbor.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
