Whole lotta shakin'

Al Giordano has been up here in the the Great White Hope North and therefore off line for a week. He's now back on.

A whole lotta shakin' goin' on in the front yard of the Empire's South American stronghold of Colombia...

..."Portly and unpretentious, Garzón won 47% of the vote in municipal elections Oct. 26 to become mayor-elect of the bustling capital, Bogota....

'...a new political star who just might outshine popular President Alvaro Uribe,' frets the Christian Science Monitor."
The Monitor says that Garzón's victory is "part of a leftist trend in South American politics from Venezuela to Brazil and most recently, Bolivia, where peasants overthrew US-friendly president Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada in October.

Update: There's immediate and corresponding turmoil in the administration of narco-president Alvaro Uribe.

What Al's been calling "Authentic Democracy" happening down below us. Maybe it will rise.

And don't forget about the "revolution" in England.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
