More vote scam

Uncertified software may have been installed on electronic voting machines used in one California county, according to the secretary of state's office.

Marc Carrel, assistant secretary of state for policy and planning, told attendees Thursday at a panel on voting systems that California was halting the certification process for new voting machines manufactured by Diebold Election Systems. article

I'm telling you, voting has become nothing more than an appeasement. If people knew their votes truly didn't count....

On the other hand, call me jaded, but the candidates you're voting for have been bought and sold and pushed or permitted into place, so what difference does it make which one you vote for? Like you think George the Dimwitted is running this country?

Okay, so it matters who names Supreme Court judges and Attorneys General. Get out there and vote. At least you may still have some say in control over your own body and your children's education - if the election machinery is addressed first. (For more on that, click here.)

But don't think the economy or foreign policy or corporate theivery are going to be affected one whit by the way you vote. Even if the machinery is fixed. That's all played out on a level to which you are uninvited. A game in which you are merely a game piece, not a player. Once upon a time a trustbuster might have been able to affect things. But the corporations have landed more powerful and cleverer dons since then. Americans have been had by them. And don't even know it. Yet.

I have a friend who says America is on her way to becoming a Third World country, and, he says, "We don't know how to do Third World". For my part, I still believe in magic and miracles. It's so comforting.

Sorry to burst your bubble about your vote. But you can still pretend. Don't let me discourage you.
