He is either a total genius or slipped on a lucky banana, because he has just won himself a shitload of Good Ol' Republican votes.
If the Demwits have any sense at all, they'll nominate him. He'll get all the Demwit votes by default, all the I'll-vote-for-anybody-but-Bush votes, and a whole mess of disgruntled losing-their-jobs Southern Republicans' votes. They just needed somebody they could vote for other than Bush.
And the corporate pimps and warhawks won't object to him, either.
I'd say his admission in the Rock the Vote debate that he has smoked marijuana would hurt, but I suspect that more of those boys with rifle racks in their back windows are smoking right now than you'd care to imagine.
