And, hopefully no more...
Josh Marshall has some comments about Dean's supposed Confederacy problem:
One of Dean's selling points is the straight-talk thing, sorta like John McCain. So I don't think it would be a good idea for him to muzzle himself. But part of the straight-talk thing is being willing to quickly say "yeah, that was lame" when you put your foot in your mouth and then move on.
If he can't learn to do that, he'll have a lot of trouble ahead.
I don't think that changes my assessment at all. If Dean gets the nomination, he'll still be satisfactory with the corporate pimps and money interests, still get the Dem votes, still get the anybody-but-Bush votes, and still win over a bunch of Republican Southern good ol' boys whom Bush is selling down the river with his domestic policies and who seriously needed somebody in the Dem party they could vote for. If he's "stubborn" and "arrogant" (Josh's adjectives), and refuses to take back anything he says - hey! the more like Bush! and the more like the radical shot-gun toting Confederates: Never say die! And never admit you were wrong. I mean, never.
Otherwise, he'd just be another wimp like those other Demwits.
Nope, Dean's a genius. You Dems wanna win this one - run Dean.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
