LONDON, Nov. 18 — Police and protesters prepared Tuesday for the arrival of President Bush, and a new poll found that the weight of public opinion was on the American leader’s side. London’s Metropolitan Police — mindful both of protests and the potential for a terrorist attack — scheduled 14,000 officer shifts to cover the state visit that ends Friday, nearly three times as many as the force had originally planned.article
Gotta love those polls. They're just about as reliable as the red/blue map. And meaningful. What are polls used for anyway? Fine tuning campaigns and advertisements. And what is the goal of an advertisement? To sell you something.
Mind you, that's this morning's story. And here's a paragraph near the bottom:
Blair will also hope for a concession over trade. Bush could use the opportunity to announce he is lifting tariffs on steel after losing a case at the World Trade Organization.
I don't know about you, but I just read yesterday that all indications are Bush is going to "go it alone" on the trade deal. American businesses have been told to pull out of Britain, last I read. Pulling out doesn't sound like a move toward trade concessions to me. But then, that was a British news source, I'm not MSNBC, nobody's telling me what to report, and I actually keep a check on the news from other countries.
And I might add that at the top of this MSNBC page is a large banner with that hypocritical lying xenophobic gasbag Limpbowel asking "Do you support Rush? Click here."
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
