The Chasing Bush website has been set up as an online diary, tracking the movements of the US President during his visit to London this week.
Photos taken with mobile phones, text updates, and maps are being submitted from the street, alerting protesters to Bush's location.
Hysterical.
Here it is: "George Bush thinks he can escape an agry public - He's wrong!"
Here's a current entry:
Bush on the move Posted by Manic on 20/11/2003 at 20:19 GMT
Four minutes ago, Bush left Buckingham Palace in his bullet-proof Cadillac to travel the furthest distance by road so far (just under a mile).
It is believed that action by the nearby London Central Mosque prevented flight by helicopter, as the near-pass would have disturbed special prayers in the lead-up to Ramadan.
So, a touch of cultural sensitivity at last. And at great personal risk, no less. That takes guts.
We're right now trying to find out what's happening in and around Regents Park.
UPDATE: A group of protestors near Hyde Park Corner have been 'contained' under Section 52. This is designed to stop members of the public from committing an offence known as 'aggravated trespass', where they may (by simply being anywhere 'in land in the open air') interfere with others who may wish to pursue any lawful activity. To my knowledge, this law has never been used against people who stand in the middle of the pavement with a sign that says 'Golf Sale'...
What this means is that any protest in that area is effectively over. From this point on - for right or wrong - the police have the power to arrest anyone they think will commit this vague offence (i.e. by continuing to stand there, breathing oxygen) if they do not obey instructions to leave the area immediately.
See? I told you they were sneakier.
Go Brits!
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
