President Bush says he knew his top national security advisers discussed and approved specific details about how high-value al Qaeda suspects would be interrogated by the Central Intelligence Agency, according to an exclusive interview with ABC News Friday.[...]
"And yes, I'm aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved."
Of course he did, and he sees no reason to worry about having done so. Now, why didn’t they all speak up so boldly about their roles when people were first screaming to know who authorized the Abu Ghraib torture? And why isn’t there another screaming now that what we knew then is admitted openly?
Unbelievable. Well, in a decent world, it would be.
