US-VISIT

Increased airport measures are part of anti-terrorism security? Look a little closer.

US-VISIT does not affect U.S. citizens, permanent residents, foreign diplomats, people with immigrant visas, most Canadians and most tourists and business travelers from visa-waiver countries.

Later this year, visitors entering the country through its 50 busiest land entry points will be photographed and fingerprinted. All other land entries will be included by the end of 2005.

About 25 percent of people entering the country, or 24 million travelers a year, will encounter the new security measures.

Until they just stop coming. While Russia grows toward freedom, America grows toward repression and isolation. Remember when Russia was the country where people couldn't speak their minds and foreigners were all but banned from entering the country? Remember when your elementary school teacher told you repeatedly that Communism was an insidious and stealthy evil - that if you were not vigilant, one day you could wake up and you would be under a Communist regime?

Yeah, okay, if you're under 45, you don't remember that. But for those of you who do, your teacher was close. We weren't vigilant. And we have awakened to a fascist regime.

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, speaking at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, said a test program there before Monday turned up 21 people on the FBI's criminal watch list for such crimes as drug offenses, rape and visa fraud, Associated Press reported.

And he has no problem saying that outright to your face.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Wake up now sleepyheads.

Boy, that 9/11 event was a winner, wasn't it? I mean, let's stop complaining about it. We are so willing to give up our civil liberties for more security, why shouldn't we be willing to give up a few thousand lives? Well, actually, come to think of it - we are. We're sending soldiers by the scores to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places around the globe to die for our security. So those people in the twin towers were a price worth paying (to quote Ms. Albright on the cost of war). And believe me, they were happy to die for your security. Just look at the payoff - we can now catch criminals of all stripes under the guise of anti-terrorist legislation.

Yippee! I have seen the light. Spread the gospel of BushKKKroft, brothers and sisters.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
