Presidential Auction 2004

Bush shouldn't appear on the Illinois ballot.

Digby explains.

Apparently, the official party nominee has to be announced before August 30 to get on the state's ballot, and the RNC is going to be held later this year. (To take full advantage of the September 11 anniversary.) The Illinois legislature adjourned without getting this little detail taken care of. Of course, the RNC insists that, come hell or high water, one way or another, Bush's name will appear on the ballot come November.

If anyone has the kind of free time that allows for it, they should go back and read the Republican oral arguments to the Florida Supreme Court on the necessity of strict deadlines, respect for the legislative process and the need to set standards. It's a great reminder of just how full of shit they were then and still are today. By their own measure there is no way that Bush should be allowed on that ballot.

Goose. Gander. Just like the government counsel issue.

And Digby is right. They are totally full of shit.
