Now here's a giant surprise

The U.S. Supreme Court, citing a need to protect presidential confidentiality, gave Vice President Dick Cheney a new chance to avoid turning over records from his energy task force.

The 7-2 decision returns the case to an appeals court to consider whether Cheney must give documents to advocacy groups that say the panel was influenced by corporations. While the justices didn't grant Cheney's request to bar all disclosure, they made it almost certain no documents will be released before the November presidential election.
