Just bring Saddam back

It seems the next logical step in the direction things are going.

First, we hear from the New Iraq® defense minister that people might need to have their hands and heads chopped off.

And now, the justice minister thinks we might need to resurrect some of Saddam's laws.

Malik Dohan al-Hassan, the justice minister, said the government might resort to "exceptional" laws imposed by Saddam Hussein after it takes power on June 30.

"The idea of imposing exceptional laws is under study," he said, adding that there were no legal hurdles.

"From the old regime, there was a statute, which foresees exceptional measures," the official said.

And the interior minister thinks we might need to impose martial law.

Falah al-Naqib, the interior minister, also warned that he might impose martial law to control "terrorist acts" after 41 people were killed in two car bombings on Thursday.

The new regime is the old regime - only under American direction. That was the plan, wasn't it?

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
