Well, now I guess they'll show us just how torture works

A frame grab taken from web site video footage May 11, 2004, shows a man, who identified himself as Nick Berg of Philadelphia seated in front of his five masked captors moments before he was executed. Al Qaeda's leader in Iraq beheaded an American civilian and vowed more killings in revenge for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners, an Islamist Web site said on Tuesday. After one of the masked men read out a statement, they pushed Berg to the floor and shouted 'God is greatest' above his screams as one of them sawed his head off with a large knife then held it aloft for the camera

Dear God. Mr. Bush, if you actually believe in such a diety and the possibility of that diety helping you, I think now would be a good time to pray.

Berg owned a business called Prometheus Methods Tower Service Inc. He climbed communications towers to inspect antennas, the electrical connections and the structure, and was in Iraq looking for work.

This is surely terror, and I don't want to make light of the horror, but good lord. Looking for work in Iraq? Is the lack of jobs here that extreme that you would look for work in Iraq? And I wonder where all those Christians are who were going to go over there and spread the gospel.

"My name is Nick Berg, my father's name is Michael ... I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah," said the bound man, adding he was from Philadelphia.

The ritual killing resembled the murder of U.S. reporter Daniel Pearl, beheaded by Islamist militants in Pakistan.

The Berg family said they were "devastated" by the death of their son.

Devastated? I think I'd have to be tranquilized for the rest of my life if that happened to my son. And I can tell you right now, come hell or high water, if there's a draft, I will be escorting my son out of the country.

"This shows the true nature of the enemies of freedom," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters. "They have no regard for the lives of innocent men, women and children. We will pursue those responsible and bring them to justice."

You dumb, idiot fuck.

We just showed them the true nature of their enemy, and that's why this happened. But I can hear the cries of the righteous right now, blaming CBS for publishing the pictures.

And there is no way you are going to bring those responsible to justice. What you are probably going to do instead is bomb the crap out of some more civilians.

One of the masked men read a statement urging Muslims to seek revenge after pictures were published of Iraqi prisoners being abused by U.S. troops at Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad.

"Nation of Islam, is there any excuse left to sit idly by? And how can free Muslims sleep soundly as they see Islam being slaughtered, honor bleeding, photographs of shame and reports of Satanic degradation of the people of Islam, men and women, in Abu Ghraib prison?"

Please, people, wake up and get our people out of Iraq. Now. And then impeach the criminally insane administration in Washington.

The militants' statement, addressing families of U.S. soldiers, said Zarqawi's group had offered Washington to swap Berg for Iraqi prisoners held by U.S. troops "but they refused."

"You will only get shroud after shroud and coffin after coffin slaughtered in this manner," it said.

"As for you Bush, dog of the Christians, anticipate what will harm you ... You and your soldiers will regret the day you stepped foot in Iraq and dared to violate Muslims."

It would appear that the Evil Idiot at 1600 Pennsylvania will be getting his desire for heads to roll. Somebody shut him up.
