Spain turns, now Australia?

Australia's opposition leader, who is riding a wave of popularity in opinion polls, says he will pull out the country's troops from Iraq if he defeats Prime Minister John Howard in elections due late this year.

There's been lots of grumbling in Australia about PM Howard. I wonder how much of it will translate into opposition votes.

We know Blair has been beseiged for a long time. Bush as well. But, the fascistas are very vocal and very well entrenched, and very well funded in these three countries.

Still, it would be nice to think that the world can change.

Imagine.

An interesting point made by Colin Powell at the hearing yesterday was that, because of America's response to 9/11 (making us safer), an outcome was that we shunted future attacks onto other countries who might be more easily attacked. I'm not sure how that will play worldwide. I understand what he was saying, but the implication is still there, perhaps subtly, that we are responsible for other countries being attacked. And they already have that idea as it is, simply from our foreign policy stance.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
