Iraqi wedding participants killed by U.S. troops

Six members of an Iraqi family have been killed and four children wounded when their village was fired on.

Family members on Sunday blamed US troops, saying soldiers had heard people shooting into the air on Saturday to celebrate a wedding nearby and had fired back from their tanks.

This is much too common for me to continue to think it's accidental. I could understand in the early weeks of the fighting how the young, fearful soldiers might be firing in panic. They know by now that these kinds of celebrations are common. Added to the many other incidents of civilian attacks, it's looking all too obvious that either the plan is to simply decimate the population, or the troops are undisciplined (not to mention ruthless and immoral) and allowed to run rampant. It's possible that they are also continuing the practice of reprisals.
