Picture proof of disinformation on "the capture"?

My friend Jody forwards this message from a list member; I have comments below:

Your latest info on the conspiracy theory is interesting.

I recently received this photo from a friend here. He pointed out that this photo, supposedly of troops unearthing Saddam, is an OLD photo. In December, there are no dates, the LATEST they are on trees is in September, August is their actual season, yet in this photo, there are ripe dates!

XXXX

P.S. Do NOT attribute this to me, or use my name if you send this out.

My comments:

This photo was not taken at the time of "the capture". However, that doesn't say much of anything.

Perhaps the photo wasn't meant to represent something taken precisely when "the capture" was made, as that was reportedly done in the dark, and this photo is taken in daylight. If the season is incorrect, it could have been an old photo on file somewhere that whoever offered it was using because they didn't have a current one.

Who knows?

We'd have to know who offered the photo, and what statements were made about it.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
