U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the United States understands Japan's decision to delay sending non-combat troops to Iraq. Appearing at a joint news conference with his Japanese counterpart, Shigeru Ishiba, after talks in Tokyo Saturday, Mr. Rumsfeld said every sovereign nation decides on its own about its "appropriate" involvement in Iraq's reconstruction. article
I guess I was mistaken about France, Russia and China being sovereign nations when they said no.
Too bad we don't have Japan over a foreign aid barrel. Ooops.
"Beef man" and Koizumi were just yukking it up recently. That must have been an incredible match up.
I'm making a move - picture this: Japan has been marking time since the Emperor was humiliated and its people were so horrifically and unjustifiably bombed. Just marking time. He-tried-to-kill-my-daddy Bush is an impertinent blip when it comes to pay backs. Centuries of honor versus a few generations of greed. In serious "battles", it's generally tactically unrecommended to blow the horn to announce you're coming. And, if your arsenal is inferior, then your strength must lie in your cleverness and subtlety and your ability to make your enemy be the agent of his own demise. Let me picture that match up with Dumbya and Koizumi again.
No, Dumbya and Osama are a more even match. Wealthy, arrogant thugs.
Blasted by munitions is not the only way to defeat a country. As they say in Missouri, there's more than one way to skin a cat. I never saw a cat skin himself before though. First time for everything.
Another U.S. ally, South Korea, said it would send no more than 3,000 of its troops to Iraq, far fewer than has been suggested by the United States. Mr. Rumsfeld is expected in Seoul on Monday.
Let's see what Dumsfiend has to say there.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
