Doing a little more digging into the Khodorkovsky YUKOS affair, this time from the angle of how George Soros is connected.
Lord have mercy. This could be a life's opus. I doubt I'll get that involved. What I have reaffirmed is that you can read seven different accounts of an event and get seven different stories.
What I have been reading is not particularly flattering to Vladimir Putin - and just when I was starting to warm up to the guy. If it is true, as I read in one article, that Putin has Khodorkovsky in jail without bail or charge until a case against him is built (the report said possibly two years), then that seems a bit high-handed. No wonder Georgie likes Vlad. On the other hand, of course I don't know what the true story is, as I've also read that Khodorkovsky was arrested on the charge of tax-evasion.
It's also no wonder journalists pop out the story least likely to cause them to do much investigation. You might never get a story out if you try to check it out first.
Between that and their money whoring and cowtowing to bosses and administrations, good luck to you trying to understand what's going on.
If you figure it out, send Nell (sidebar) a message.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
