Powell or Sharon - who will win?

Mr Powell's comments came in response to Israel's Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who earlier told Israeli Radio that Mr Powell was "not being useful to the peace process" and that "this is an incorrect step by a senior representative of the American Administration".  article

Mr. Powell is trying to pressure Mr. Sharon into going along with the Geneva peace proposal. Well, actually, I don't know - what difference would it make if Mr. Sharon signed the thing? He doesn't have to honor it. There's another Geneva accord that the U.S. signed and doesn't honor.

This could get interesting. From what I've read, according to Mr. Sharon they own us. ("I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it.") And also, from what I've read, their intelligence-slash-goon squad agency is better than ours.

There's the question of a wall which seems to be a matter of contention. Imagine that. Israel says it's to prevent terrorist attacks from Palestinians. In fact, portions of it are being built on the Palestinian side of a line previously drawn demarking the two country's land. The Palestinians caught between the wall and the line will undoubtedly be forced to move further back into Palestine, and those on the Palestinian side of the wall who have land and farms on the now Israeli side of the wall will be forced to give them up. I guess they can all move to refugee camps in Jordan.
