Operation Avalanche

More juvenile name games.

BAGRAM, Afghanistan (AP)--Hundreds of American soldiers launched an air assault in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, part of a new operation the U.S. military is calling its biggest since the fall of the hardline Taliban regime two years ago.

This is the "operation" initiated on December 2 that killed nine children on Saturday in a strike intended for a "target" who was long gone.

Avalanche may actually be an appropriate name. But the reference may not be the intended one.
