Several well-publicized flaws in "e-voting," or electronic voting, systems have not led to improvements, said Harvard University computer professor Rebecca Mercuri.
"When such problems are exposed, no one appears to be held accountable," Mercuri said.
"Officials are not removed from their posts, fired or sent to trial; vendors are not banned from participation; equipment is not recalled; standards are not rewritten; and elections are not re-held," she said. article
And don't expect anything in the way of improvement by 2004, even though they are finally starting to talk about it. California has mandated that paper-receipt outfitted machines be in place by 2006. So maybe by 2008. You know what they say about the wheels of justice. Personally, I think they fell off.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
