This is for You
I will give you my treasures I kept
for a long time.
I will give you a petal
that falls from a rose.
I will give you the first golden leaf
that falls in autumn.
I will give you the sunken diamond
that shines more than the sun.
I will give you my last treasure,
the seashell that echoes like the ocean.

to the little girl that wrote the poem, it reminds me of my little girls, they are always bringing me the smallest little things that i save in a little box. they usually find these treasure's at the play ground. these treasures usually consist of a sparkling sequence, a bead, a baby pine cone, anything that they think is a treasure, is a treaure to me, and every special little treasure they brought to the me holds a memory of there sweet little faces, so full of the sense of accomplishment for bringing mommy such a beatiful little treasure. my girls are 10, and 9 now, when they use to bring me treasures, they were 3, and 4. i no longer get little treasures, but i ask them what kind of sugars they are? and they say we're french toast eaters, flower pickers, fashion girls, and treasure finders.... so thank you miss sierra, for writing a poem that so perfectly described my treasure finders
