Missourians show 'em

It's the "Show Me" state. We do our best.

"Four more years," chanted dozens of backers of President Bush as the Democratic ticket emerged from their train late on Thursday [in Sedalia, MO] and waved to hundreds of supporters.

"Flush the Johns," one man shouted.

...Edwards maintained a smile but at one point asked: "I just want to say to those folks who don't want to hear from us: My children are on this train. Show them some good Missouri manners."

Can't show you what we don't have.

As the train pulled away, Edwards gushed: "That was great. That was fun. When they were booing 'hope' and 'optimism,' I knew it was an interesting crowd."

Hey, we are the state that gave the world Rush Limbaugh and John Ashcroft. We are the state that elected a dead man to the Senate. We are the first state in the Union to constitutionally ban gay marriage. Interesting isn't the adjective I would use.

"The Johns" could always do what the Crapper does: ban protestors to a site out of sight and hearing range. (Or could they? Are "free speech zones" an executive privilege?)

....hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
