According to an AFL-CIO poll, 42 million Americans would form a union if given the opportunity. However, unfortunately, many of those who attempt to do so are routinely harassed, and even fired. Current labor laws do not effectively protect these workers. The Employee Free Choice Act will repair the process through which unions are formed, better protecting the rights of American workers. civilrights.org
I think the AFL-CIO needs to be scrapped and new organizing needs to be done. It seems like every time a good idea comes to fruition, it grows into a stinking pile of corruption.
Workers unite! Stop groveling.
But you're going to have to become informed and concerned. Just sitting back and griping that your taxes are too high and you no longer get overtime pay isn't going to cut it. It's going to take some commitment and some energy, and some personal risk.
Ooooh. Problem.
....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
