Drug firms hire writers to put articles in medical journals

You're shocked. I can tell.

"Hundreds of articles in medical journals claiming to be written by academics or doctors have been penned by ghostwriters in the pay of drug companies," the Observer reports.  article

As anyone who has obtained a graduate degree can tell you - research can be bought. Even at public universities, more and more funding comes from corporate sources, who then own the resultant findings and may publish or not as they choose - and fund or not, depending upon the results they get.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
