It's Never Too Late to Say You're Sorry

The Danes have apologized for Viking raids on Ireland, and Papua New Guinea has apologized for its cannibals who ate some Fijian missionaries in the nineteenth century.

Addendum:
We're still looking for an apology for our treatment of Native Americans and African slaves.

Japanese Americans might eventually get a memorial, but no apology is in the works. I don't think we're sorry about locking them up and taking their property in WWII. Enemy non-combatants by virtue of their heritage, and we were at war, you know. Americans of Middle Eastern heritage, please take note. And we sure won't be apologizing for invading anybody or raiding any place.

I wonder what comes after apologizing for having eaten your visitors.
