Well, It IS Awfully Hot

Residents in Houston are a bit concerned when Harris County police decided to call off a manhunt of an escaped prisoner because of the heat. The man was arrested for possession and suspected of robbery. However, he was able to get out of his handcuffs during transport and escaped. The police started the manhunt but then called it off because it was just to darn hot.

Frankly, I don't know how anybody lives in Houston. Just a bit south, on - or rather, in - the Gulf, we here in Galveston get some air currents and a bit of mitigation with the wind off the water, but Houston just sits up there and boils. (And this year, besides not having had any rain since late winter, temps beginning the first of May have been what we usually see in July. Left Behind without the Rapture.)

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
