Political Moves

Dan Bartlett, with George Bush for the past 14 years, is resigning his post as presidential advisor to "reacquaint myself with my family." Said his time with the president has been "a roller coaster that seems always to go up."

McCain religious outreach campaign aides who were fired in April are unhappy about it. They say the campaign had contempt for Christians. "Like, if we can get what we want without having to get too close [to religious people] and not make a big display, we'll do it."

Apparently there was some conflict over how to do the outreach, with the aides accusing the campaign folk of wanting them to collect "church directories as an organizing strategy", and the campaign folk saying the aides wanted to hire a bunch of staff at huge expense.

....but hey, do what you want....you will anyway.
